Two Becomes Four
This Linda Vista project takes an existing dated duplex and reimagines it as a modern fourplex — keeping the bones of the original building while adding two additional units that bring the property into the present. It's an approach that respects what's there while unlocking the site's full potential.
The existing duplex was structurally sound but architecturally tired. Rather than demolish and start over, the design preserves and updates the original two units while adding two new units that integrate seamlessly with the existing structure. The result reads as one cohesive building, not an addition bolted onto an old one.
Each of the four units is designed to maximize livability within a compact footprint. Open floor plans, smart storage solutions, and private outdoor spaces ensure that every unit feels like a genuine home. The layout prioritizes natural light and cross-ventilation, reducing energy costs and creating spaces that feel bright and alive.
Linda Vista is a neighborhood in transition — and projects like this play a role in shaping what it becomes. By adding quality housing units to an existing lot, we're contributing to the neighborhood's evolution while keeping the work at a scale that fits the community. No towers, no massive complexes — just four well-designed homes where two used to stand.
Breaking ground in March 2026, this project demonstrates that smart densification doesn't require demolition. Sometimes the best approach is to work with what you have and make it better.
